Mogged

Five steps into the machine young men built to score their own faces — and the Victorian statistician who built it first.

A course on the thought of Looksmaxxing.

Course outline

  1. The Scan — What the product actually is, what it costs, and who is selling it — and one correction to the version of this story you have already heard.
  2. The Words — The subculture's vocabulary, and what it commits its speakers to — including one distinction a philosopher named in 1755.
  3. The Laboratory — A volunteer-run rating community's rulebook, read as what it is: a research protocol, with mercy classified as contamination.
  4. The Bell Curve — The community states its method in its own wiki. The method is a Victorian one, and the man who invented it is available to answer for it.
  5. The Step — Where the argument actually fails — not in its evidence, which is real, but in one unmarked inference. Four answers, left unreconciled.
